On Saturday, May 3, 2025, participating Home Depot stores across the U.S. will host the latest installment of their monthly Kids Workshop series. The featured project, called Birdy Buffet, invites children to build a bird-themed creation designed to attract feathered visitors, blending creativity with early science exploration.
The Kids Workshop program runs on the first Saturday of each month between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., and it is free to attend. Families are encouraged to register in advance to receive the Birdy Buffet Kit, which includes all materials needed for the activity. The event emphasizes hands-on skill building, safe tool use, and imaginative thinking.
In addition to the in-store workshop, parents can download exclusive extension activities created in partnership with Discovery Education. These provide children with new ways to reimagine their creations and apply what they’ve learned.
Birdy Buffet encourages kids to think like bird watchers, experimenting with elements that might appeal to different species and gaining a fun introduction to nature and the environment.
